I don't remember where I came up with idea of using mason jars as storage but I love it. I hold my pasta, rice, beans and (in this case) pancake mix. When I come home from the grocery store I take everything out of their boxes and bags and put in mason jars. I'm able to see what I have and throw the boxes and bags away. I use the grocery bags as trash bags so I'm able to save on trash bags. This also keeps these items organized and I'm not finding rice all over my pantry. The mason jars are stored in shelving attached to door.
Hope someone else finds this idea as great as I have.
