Spicy!!!

My kitchen is very small and we like to cook a lot so I had to come up with space for my spices.  I had two metals pieces attached to wood to hang on the wall.  For decoration I added a piece of scrapbook paper with modpodge.  Then I just added my spices to magnetic spice canisters.  Finally, used my good ole' label maker and added the labels.  So, not only did I create a place for my spices but decoration for the wall.  You can see a little on the left my second one hung.

Let me know any creative ways you have come up with for kitchen storage.

Organizing Workshop and Swap Meet

Wouldn't it be nice to put your hands on "that piece of paper" when you need to?


At this workshop you will learn how to organize your paperwork (yes even your back log) and keep it organized.  Learn to keep the top of your desk a working surface and not as a storage unit.  We will even go over doing the same with your computer files.


Now for the fun part ... 


I hate getting rid of something that is in perfectly fine working order (I can blame my dad for that) BUT I have learned that if I'm not using it then it is creating clutter in my home and my mind.  Over the past couple of years my mom and my sister-in-law and me have been trading items.  It's great we each get new items without spending money.  So, I thought what fun that would be to do this at the workshop.  If you want to participate in the swap then just bring one office supply or equipment (in good condition) to swap with someone else.

Surround yourself with things that you love and make you feel good.  This is a good rule to go by to keep from buying to many things and to get rid of clutter.  It's not the quanity of things you have but the quality.

Still Learning & Decision Making

I'm still learning about blogging and I do not know how to show another blog.  This is a blog that I posted on facebook and I think it's simple but great http://elizabethhageninspires.com/?p=1928.  Please take a couple of minutes to read.

As many of you may know I was in the same business for 27 years.  It was (and is) a business I loved and would have done for free.  I enjoyed my time doing the business, working with great employees, wonderful clients (loan officers and realtors) and most of all helping the customers.  It has been like mourning the lost of a loved one and yes there have been many tears shed as there is now.

Some of you may also know that I have struggled with what to do with my life now.  Luckily I have a wonderful husband that has encouraged me to do what I love, the problem has been figuring that out.  I have asked (more like bugged) my close friends to help, I have read a lot of books on things that interest me and gone as far as taking a class on choosing a career to fit my personality.

I keep coming back to two things interior design and photography, and I do love both.  So with the encouragement of my husband, family and friends I'm going to college to pursue a career in one or both.  While working on my education I want to help people with organization and photography.  I'm putting together a workshop and can offer one on one help.  So if you need help organizing you office, desk, files, paper work, closets, kitchen, etc. let me know.  Also, I've enjoyed taking casual pictures and I really enjoy taking pictures of parties.  So if you are having a birthday, bridal, baby or any other kind of party and tired of missing half the party and not being in the pictures let me know.
